What would a summer in Zgorzelec be without the hottest event of the season? The colourful and dance-filled Soundsystem Street Festival returns for the eighth time. Eight is a promising number – turn it on its side and you get the infinity symbol! Drawing on the Caribbean tradition of street carnivals, we’ll once again set up speaker arrays on the cobblestones, whilst sound systems and DJs fill the air with positive vibes, drumbeats and bass. As always, it’ll be colourful and eclectic – from the oxygen-like rhythms of reggae and dub through to drum’n’bass, jungle, raggamuffin, world music, hip-hop, funk, acid jazz and electronic music. In these turbulent times, everyone needs a bit of unrestrained dancing in the street. The sound pressure from the speakers helps to lower internal pressure and lighten the burden on the soul – this has long been confirmed by respected scientists. This is exactly what we strive to deliver to you every year. In 2026, there’ll be some acts familiar from previous editions, some new faces, and crews we haven’t seen before. And one sensational comeback, so beautifully evoking Zgorzelec’s long-standing tradition as the cradle of sound system vibes. Come along, all you positive people of all ages, all you anti-Babylon tribes. It’s time to unite in dance on the streets of Zgorzelec!✌️
